Mel's Stitches

Mel Rodicq is a designer and illustrator known for her love of colour and pattern. She received her training in surface pattern and textile design at Brighton University in 1993, and has since established herself as a successful freelance illustrator based in the UK. She mainly works in digital medium using Procreate and Photoshop.

With a keen eye for colour, Mel’s illustrations are a testament to her love for experimenting with hues and creating palettes that evoke various emotions. Patterns play a big role in Mel's portfolio. Her attention to detail and ability to integrate various elements result in visually striking compositions, from intricate floral motifs to forests and her signature houses.

Mel's approachable nature is reflected in her art, making it relatable and engaging to a wide audience. Her illustrations have been featured in numerous publications, earning her recognition from craft enthusiasts. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Mel finds inspiration in the natural world around her. She believes in the continuous growth of her skills as an artist and seeks new avenues to expand her creative horizons.
